Farewell, Jim McKay

When I was growing up, my Saturday afternoon would not have been complete without watching ABC's Wide World of Sports. Watching the opening video was worth it alone to see that skier wipe out off the jump. What really made the opening and the coverage was Jim McKay. He had such a sincere delivery in his voice and his on-air personality was genuine and authentic. I loved watching the Olympics when he was reporting. This weekend when we were watching The Belmont Stakes coverage, it seemed like something was missing--it was Jim McKay. Jim McKay was the real deal and he will be missed.
