What's a 3G Network?

I keep hearing commericals on the radio and seeing ads on TV for 3G mobile networks. I wondered what does "3G" mean? Turns out it's pretty simple. According to Wikepedia,
"3G is the third generation of tele standards and technology for mobile networking, superseding 2.5G. It is based on the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) family of standards under the IMT-2000.

3G networks enable network operators to offer users a wider range of more advanced services while achieving greater network capacity through improved spectral efficiency. Services include wide-area wireless voice telephony, video calls, and broadband wireless data, all in a mobile environment."

Now you know, too.

Cool story you got here. I'd like to read more concerning this theme. The only thing I would like to see here is a few pics of any gadgets.
